Foundational Training

Every student should take these courses for developing a clear understanding of the Buddhist view and general
understanding of the path and three vehicles.

  • Progressive Journey into Buddhist Practice

Comprehensive Training

Curriculum covering classic Indian root texts and commentaries, Vajrayana and many aspects similar to traditional shedra with additional texts recommended by Rinpoche.

Year One, Spring Session:

  • 101: Treasury of Philosophy Part One
  • 107: Essence of the Abhidharma Part One
  • Additional course work: Introduction to reading and writing Tibetan

Year One, Fall Session:

  • 102: Treasury of Philosophy Part Two
  • 108: Essence of the Abhidharma Part Two
  • Additional course work: The Meaning and Method of Debate

Year Two, Spring Session:

  • 201: The Prajnaparamita Part One
  • 207: Essence of Madhyamaka Part One
  • Additional Course work: Understanding and Writing Poetry

Year Two, Fall Session:

  • 202: The Prajnaparamita Part Two
  • 208: Essence of Madhyamaka Part Two
  • Additional Course Work: Astrology and Cosmology

Year Three, Spring Session:

  •  301: Exploring the Tantras Part One
  • 307: Mahamudra Part One
  • Additional Course Work: Tibetan Medicine Overview

Year Three, Fall Session:

  • 308: Mahamudra Part Two
  • Additional Course Work: Ritual Arts
